My Story

I am a Detroit native now based in NYC who is looking to get into the world of tech. I studied exercise physiology and had various roles in empowering people to take control of their health.

Throughout my healthcare career, I always found myself working with a frankenstein of technologies just to get the results I wanted, which left me wanting to learn how to make my own. I started my adventure into the tech world in August of 2015, where I completed the New York Code and Design Academy 12 week intensive full stack web development bootcamp and fell in love with coding.

I was able to get a contract Jr. Developer role to further hone my skills, and was loving every minute of it. Unfortunately I had an injury that made it difficult for me to use a computer for a prolonged period of time. I am finally on the mend and have been diligently coding and exploring the tech world so I can hit the ground running!

A fun fact about me is…
My favorite activities include Judo and Brazilian Jujitsu! I like to describe them both as physical chess because it is just as much technical as it is physically demanding, where it favors the player with the better technique than braun. I also love cooking up a storm and exploring different ethnic cuisines.
